Norwegian-Sami Mezzo-Soprano Angelica Voje, studies with Kathleen Livingstone, at the Benjamin Britten International Opera School at the Royal college of Music, where she is a Scholar supported by Veronica Mansfield and Lucy Ann Jones Awards. In 2006-07 she was the first recipient of the Opperby-Stokowski Scholarship while doing her GraDip at the Royal College of Music. Before coming to England she studied a year with professor Neil Mackie and Poul Erik Hansen at the Agder University College in Norway, and two years with Henning Vilén at Bel Canto Scandinavia in Denmark.
She will be a member of the International Opera Studio at Z¸rich Operahouse from August 2008.
Angelica’s operaroles are Nutrice / Coro di Familiari (L’incoronazione di Poppea), Baba the Turk (Rakes Progress) and Marcellina (Le Nozze di Figaro) for the BBIOS.(Conducted by Michael Rosewell and directed by: Paul Curran/James Conway/Tim Caroll). Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro) for Musikdramatisk Selskab, and covering the role of Teseo (Teseo) for the English Touring Opera.
In june 2008 she will be singing Fox (Cunning little vixen) for the BBIOS.
In scenes for the Royal College of Music she have sung: Maddalena (Rigoletto), Octavian (Der Rosenkavalier), Carmen (Carmen) and Mistress Quickly (Falstaff). During her stay in Denmark she created the role of Louise de Valliere in the danish musical "The Man with the Iron Mask".
Have been singing in concerts such as; Rossini Petite Messe Solennelle, Festivalgalla, in Universitetets aula with Oslo Symphony Orchestra, Hans Christian Andersen Celebration Concert with Wienertrioen at Holsteinborg Castle, Denmark. Concert in Spain with Coro de Altea og Orchestra Sinfonico de la Nucia. Several concerts at the Oslo Opera Festival, Norway, ”Kolbeinkonserten” (For the Norwegian order of freemasons, Oslo) and soloist in series of concert for the freemasons in Denmark, and Verdi arias with Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra conducted by Peter Szilvay, Norway.
While at the RCM she have attended and participated in masterclasses with Roger Vignoles, Sarah Walker, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Gerald Finley, Robert Tear, Emma Kirkby, Patricia Macmahon, Phillip Langridge, and Margareth Kingsley.
